Video: Marvin & Chardonnay – Big Sean, Kanye West & Roscoe Dash
Posted by Hymn | Filed under Albums, Music, Single Of The Week, Video
“Marvin & Chardonnay” is a Kanye West and Roscoe Dash song. Big Sean should have just ab-libed for ‘Ye. I’m sure the blogosphere loves what Sean brings to the table but I’d much rather see him eat somewhere else. Hold up, Hold up, HOLD UP — Whoa there. Crockett and Tubbs, what’s up with the Grey Goose instead of, ah: Chardonnay!? *Insert Kanye Shrug*
Big Sean should seriously work with Pusha T as a writing tandem. It would work, I assure you.

No matter the misconceptions you have about ‘Watch The Throne’ nothing can parallel to “Otis”, especially this video. Jay-Z and Kanye West don’t even shoot “low budget/one day” video’s the same as the competition. Everything is a bit grander, a lot more fun and pristine quality. Physical copy out today, tuck your whole marketing plan in.

Nothing Like It – J.Cole
Posted by Hymn | Filed under Leaks, Music

J.Cole was out in L.A. and decided to release a freestyle, via Ustream, over a Kanye West beat.
I added Beanie Sigel’s “Nothing Like It” after the jump. Cole’s cool but Beanie is something else. Nobody touching Beans nigga.

If this is what we are calling art nowadays it is very artistic. It’s very something, in one direction or the other, depending where your taste lies.

Throwback Thursday : All Falls Down – Kanye West
Posted by Hymn | Filed under Albums, Misc., Throwback
I remember stealing College Dropout from Best Buy and popping it into my Honda Accord. I knew the beats were going to be “DOPE” but I didn’t know what to expect from the Chi-Town’s wordsmith as far as lyrics, musical content. (Back then I only listened to D-Block & Roc-a-Fella Cd’s while rocking my du-rag outdoors.) “We Don’t Care” came on and I just remember an awkward look overcoming my face. I must have muttered something like “This nigga Kanye is an odd ball” as I lowered the volume and reduced my speed. (I was trying to get away form Best Buy!) The second skit in 3 tracks came on and I was beginning to regret my decision to risk my freedom and criminal reputation on this CD. Then “All Falls Down” came on! Instantly I fell in love. I played it four times straight raised the volume and pretended my Honda Accord was a Mercedes Benz. Either way I was still a nigger right? Fuck it though. After I got home I let the CD finish in my stereo and was pleased with my “purchase”. I still don’t like “We Don’t Care” but Kanye, the musical genius, has grown on me. Yea he is a musical genius now, odd ball–not so much.
