I remember first hearing him on a freestyle when he was 16. It was a battle rap and back then battle raps made you monumental. I waited though. Then I heard him on Juelz’s Squalie it was banana’s but still I waited. When I heard dude on Stop-N-Go!!! I dubbed him the next great. I thought Roc-a-fella had a monopoly on all the young talent. Then that shit went down with Cam and Jim so J.R. was left out in the cold. This was the writers of all writers. His new shit doesn’t quite move me or compare but he claims he’s only warming up right now. I’ll wait for Still Standing for that heat.
