I admire Frank Ocean. He didn’t go away with a record deal and become someone that the label thought he was. He manufactured an opportunity and currently is among the hottest musicians online. Remember when someone tells you that you are *insert key phrase here* it’s only an opinion. Others might set our glass ceilings but whether we breakthrough them is totally and utterly up to us. Def Jam, are you getting a clear picture?
This guy used to be a featured artist around these parts. He went from Mighta Missed Monday to Def Jam. (I say that in jest) Krit produced this joint and spews that intellectual Mississippi madness. Def Jam might be just handing out deals nowadays but Krit deserved his.
What does K-R-I-T mean anyway?

@AkiyahB catches up with Def Jam’s new signee Big K.R.I.T. to talk about his come up, music influences and what “real music” is.
Good questions followed by good responses. K.R.I.T. just needs to answer questions a little slower. All in all this was a good interview.
This is supposedly off an upcoming mixtape. It has an older look to it though. Why didn’t he go with Creative Control like in his last video’s? Politics. I’m not saying the direction was bad on this, I’m just saying it’s different.
Of course Shout to Onsmash
Def Jam/G.O.O.D. music signee CyHi Da Prynce released this mixtape a couple week’s ago but I’m just getting around to hearing it. Truthfully I’ve avoided listening to CyHi because of the hoopla that surrounds him but he is everywhere so I gave in to good marketing. Although it is a pawn in a guerilla marketing scheme I must admit CyHi’s mixtape is impressive. He seem’s like he’s ready to make a dent in hip-hop’s facade next year. Unfortunatley I still won’t be checking up on him but I’m sure his music will make it’s way to me. That is what G.O.O.D. marketing does isn’t it?

Big K.R.I.T. will have a party at Sounds of Brazil this Wednesday and hopefully he’ll pack the crowd. Smoke DZA and Curren$y Spitta should make some cameo’s but the 300 block representer will be the main attraction. With all the time he’s spending in New York Big K.R.I.T. could be accused of reverse carpetbagging.

So Complex made a list of the 5 worst Jay-Z tracks and we here at Pardon Me Duke don’t agree. I took personal offense because “Justify My Thug” and “30 Something” actually receive high marks in my ipod. I thought maybe they didn’t get the concept of the track and reading the excerpt I was right.
Here’s the first leak off Big Sean’s debut album, Finally Famous.
Guess Hov left this track with Fab as a parting gift.
