So it seems that yet another prominent black author, Michael Eric Dyson, is writing a book on one of Hip-Hop’s greatest albums, Illmatic. I don’t know what insight he’s going to give, outside of what NaS himself has already given. We’ll see what this leads to.
Now I don’t know what is going on with our black entertainers but thsi look drug related. Here’s K-Ci and JoJo performing at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. As they performed “All My Life”, JoJo passes out on stage. Now the argument from the groups side is that JoJo is epileptic. I can believe that but these two have had to many crackish incidents. Judge for yourself my Dukes.
Update: Added an interview with K-Ci did with Cipha Sounds and Rosenberg this morning after the jump.
I missed this Friday night, maybe it was the heat through the weekend. Saigon chopped it up on Slay’s show to talk about his release from Atlantic, The Game, Lil’ Wayne & More. Great interview my Dukes..Check it out.
JuJu757 sent me this email saying that Domain Pain will not only leak this week but it will be hosted by Whoo Kid. I’m hoping this isn’t just a rumor. You know I will leak this as soon as it drops. Supposed tracklisting inside post.
The boy Cliff has been making his media rounds to talk his new freedom and more. Here’s two in-depth interviews from T.I. speaking on his case, Barack Obama, Ludacris, Paper Trail and much more. He even addresses Shawty LO’s subliminal shots on “Dunn Dunn”. Got to love how he compares the two.
It’s like a dog barking and howling at the moon. Now, that dog don’t even know why he barking and howling at the moon. The moon don’t care, the moon is so far away the dog can’t touch the moon, he can’t shut the moon off. The moon just sits there and it shines REGARDLESS. And eventually the dog will get tired of barking and he must too…admire the moon as it shines.
Seem like the boy Hov is getting too greedy as each day passes. NY Post’sPage Six is reporting that Shawn Carter is shopping around his Carter Music Group for a whopping 100 Million Dollars. Here’s what Page six had to say.
JAY-Z wants his own label, but can’t find a home for it. Jay-Z, who left his position as president of Def Jam to be an entrepreneur last year, is apparently asking “way too much,” an insider said. “He wants a label to give him $100 million for the Carter Music Group and provide for overhead, development and digital investment. It’s crazy. He wants the labels to basically be his venture capital fund — but unlike a venture cap, they won’t get 50 percent. This is not the ’90s anymore.” A rep for Jay-Z, who is branching out into hotels and bars, called this account “rumors.”
Like really Hov, what artists are you promising to make this flip investment….Bleek, Beans, Freeway and Tru Life. I mean I like those dudes but let’s be real.
