Posted by Hymn | Filed under Mighta Missed Monday's, Movies / T.V.

Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family’s financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in this world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White’s releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.

Black Web Series – Lenox Avenue
Posted by Hymn | Filed under Misc., Movies / T.V.
This is coming soon but tell me the trailer doesn’t make you anxious!
Black television nowadays is “The Cleveland Show”, “The Wire” and “For the love of [insert rapper/athlete name here]” all marketed by white people for white people. Jaleel White (or Urkle) and Al Thompson have skipped over the Viacom conglomerate and taken their original black series to the internet and google’s ad dollars. Black television will never be “Good Times” and “Martin” ever again but maybe black web series can be. “The system, keep on tryin to lose us
And all we can do is keep buyin computers”

Posted by Hymn | Filed under Movies / T.V., Music, Throwback
Mau Maus are characters in Spike Lee’s film, Bamboozled. They’re angry hiphoppers, frustrated by the industry’s lucrative, high-profile displays of ignorance, and looking for a way — any way — to make their own activist voices heard.
Mau Maus are: Mos Def, Big Black,Gano Grills, Serch, Canibus Charli Baltimore, Mums, DJ Scratch
I have the Bamboozled trailer after the jump. If you haven’t seen it please go rent it or find it on megaupload. Black comedy, hope you understand the wit.

Docs: Steal This Film II
Posted by Goat | Filed under Documentaries, F**kery, Movies / T.V., Music, Politricks
As promised my Dukes I will continue to keep posting docs, clips and other videos that I watch in my personal time. Today as it is Music Monday on Twitter I bring you the argument of file sharing and piracy. The documentary today is Steal This Film. This documentary shows the development of the World Wide Web and the entertainment industries arch enemy, P2P. For you smart dumb cats it means Peer 2 Peer. The way most of you out there build your library. I would post part 1 but it’s the same doc as this version minus some new footage. Take in this doc and spread the conversation my Dukes.
