Here is an interview done with DJ Clark Kent entitled, “Brooklyn’s Finest”. I’d have to agree because this brother is crazy talented, has worked with some of the most important artists of our generation & he represents his boro like no other (except me that is). He basically shows off some of his kicks that none of us will NEVER have, hearing Jay-Z for the first time when J was 15 & says that Tupac was a great rapper but not the greatest Emcee. This dude breaks it down to the bare essentials & I’d have to agree.
*Side Note* The BBQ that Clark Kent threw this summer was a cool event that both Goat & myself throroughly enjoyed. BK FOREVER!!!!!
Andre 3000 comes through with his upscale menswear line, Benjamin Bixby. I for one wouldn’t cop an entire outfit, but maybe a few pieces here & there. Gotta get your ‘Love Below’ on when you’re out on the town sometimes. After making it’s debut at Harrod’s in London, be on the lookout for the line at Barney’s New York soon.
You might have seen the post we put up a while back about the Bun B x Greedy Genius sneaker collabo. As you can see my dude Bun is not playing any games when it comes to these business opportunities. Keep your eyes open & your ears alert for more hotness coming our way.
So it seems VA’s finest have gotten tired of A Bathing Ape & BBC. Fresh off the stove with their new creation, Play Clothes. I’m sure this line will be hot because Pusha & Malice know how 2 kill it when it comes to fashion. Maybe they’ll incorporate their drug dealing days into the line somehow. Only time will tell.
The homie Shake sent me this footage of Mos Def goin in over Weezy’s beat. He’s at Magic promoting his line that Carter G threw up earlier this week. Yea Mos > Weezy as usual.
Seems like rappers are slowly taking over the fashion game as we know it. Port Arthur’s own Bun Bhas linked up with sneaker company Greedy Genius to collaborate on this gem called the Cool Breeze. Peep the R.I.P. Pimp C keychain that comes attached to the kicks. Straight FIRE!!!!!!
Seems like BK’s own, Mos Def, has taken a small break from rap to be the new face of the clothing line Too Black Guys. I respect this clothing line for 2 main reasons, 1.) It’s black owned (remember the slogan from the late 80’s & early 90’s) & 2.) The clothing line actually has a meaning behind it. I say Pretty Flaco made a good choice on going with this particular line.
So while I was glancing the pages of Herfection I stumbled on some new fresh. Here’s some pics from Kanye’s line in VMan Magzine. Looks top notch. Cause really, I’m dead tired of these t-shirt / hoody lines calling it clothing. Check out Rih Rih and Lupe after the jump.
