Before The Music Dies Documentary (Full)

I was suppose to post this a few weeks ago when my dude B. Money put me on to this doc. In inspiration of Carter G’s post that he snagged from Eskay today I finally decided to throw it up. If you’re an artist or an aspiring one this is definitely some study material for you to watch. Before The Music Dies which was released in 2006 takes a look at the homogenization of popular music. For you “Smart Dumb Cats” ©Ghostface I’ll translate: You see how there’s like 10 Kanye’s & 8 Million 2Pacs bouncing around on your screen on 106 & Park with no room for anything else. Also add in Hot 97′s rotation well there you have it. Feature commentary from Toure, ?uestlove, Erykah Badu, Eric Clapton, Dave Matthews, Elvis Costello, and more. ?uestlove leaves one of the most profound quote in this doc.

People get art and commerce mixed up. And once you can separate the two and see art is art and commerce is commerce and understand that this business is commerce then it makes that much more sense.”

Real Sh*t.

Take it on the train with you
