Jay-Z Wants A 100 Mil For Carter Music Group

Blue Magic

Seem like the boy Hov is getting too greedy as each day passes. NY Post’s Page Six is reporting that Shawn Carter is shopping around his Carter Music Group for a whopping 100 Million Dollars. Here’s what Page six had to say.

JAY-Z wants his own label, but can’t find a home for it. Jay-Z, who left his position as president of Def Jam to be an entrepreneur last year, is apparently asking “way too much,” an insider said. “He wants a label to give him $100 million for the Carter Music Group and provide for overhead, development and digital investment. It’s crazy. He wants the labels to basically be his venture capital fund — but unlike a venture cap, they won’t get 50 percent. This is not the ’90s anymore.” A rep for Jay-Z, who is branching out into hotels and bars, called this account “rumors.”

Like really Hov, what artists are you promising to make this flip investment….Bleek, Beans, Freeway and Tru Life. I mean I like those dudes but let’s be real.

If someone is stupid enough to invest a 100 million of faith in a 38 year old rapper (who happens to still be good), with a line up that hasn’t gone double platinum (combined), God bless them. They will need all the divine intervention they can get. The likes of ISIAH THOMAS, MAGIC JOHNSON, MICHAEL JORDAN, BIGGIE, NAS, and yes JAY have all proven one thing over and over: GREAT individual talent DOES NOT translate into having a GREAT eye for talent, or being a GREAT coach/director of talent or a even into having a GREAT understanding of who is or isnt a star.
