Basquiat Interviewed With Glenn O’Brien

Since I’ve been hella slacking on Black History Month I figured let me drop something that interested me. Jean Michel Basquiat was one of the key names during the 1980s-era Neo-expressionist art movement. Basquiat’s paintings continue to influence modern day artists and command high prices from the likes of Jay-Z and other rich mofo’s. Dude Jean is super laid back…The Coolest.

    Dude was a fucking genius! luv the work and I have seen several exhibits in my lifetime. Go rent the movie if you havent seen it, and and ….no fucking buy the movie its a classic, and go buy Wild Style!

    That cut was somethin straight outta Mad Max & Beyond the Thunderdome. But Basquiat was a very influential black man, a Haitian man at that, & his art was crack. Too bad he got addicted 2 drugs & it took his life early on. The movie about him was on point & Jeffrey Wright did a great job on portraying him.
