When I first heard Canibus aka “Can’t Get Right” was doing another album I didn’t care as usual. I was gonna do a review before even listening to the album. Since that was unfair I decided to listen but ended up with the same conclusions. Dude put out a few LP’s and even went to military school. From the beginning any and every true hip hopper knew that Canibus was special. When it comes to spitting dudes lays it down. The flaw in dude was simple, he couldn’t get the backpack off for a second. Canibus has never been able to make a track thats lyrical with crossover potential. At the end of the day it’s still Rap Music…not just rap. I did a appreciate the lyricism throughout the album but after a while it gets tired when you realize you can’t vibe to it. Sometimes a dude like myself and I’m sure a lot of yall feel the same way might not want to head nod. Poet Laureate is a great song…lyrically. The gimmick of mixing the song 8 millions ways on the site is very lame. Thats is strictly a backpackers wet dream. In closing Canibus will forever be right below the surface unable to break through. At least we can always enjoy Second Round K.O.

Didnt a certain Hatian theif I mean rapper/producer roast this guy a few years back? Why do people who are known for being failures continue to make music…(THE LOX!!!)

hip hop will never appreciate an artist like can-i-bus until he’s dead, the dude is so advanced lyrically that the commercial shit don’t phase him, its kinda sad, maybe if he found the right management team or a better executive producer maybe he’ll succed in pop hop(lol)

Question? Why when an artist cannot successfully cross over somebody has to say he is going unappreciated? The man has his moments yes..But if you notice..*cough* Common still manages to be enlightened, spiritual, and all that but just teamed up with and ill producer who basically resurrected his career. Plus if you notice a man named Todd Smith stood on his neck and shitted on his chest a few years back. Now we may not all be fans of The Ripper but he has ended many a rap career. Maybe we should just let Can-I-Bus lie with the hero’s.

    What are you talking about?

The reviewer’s gramatical errors make it so I cannot take him seriously. I’ve got the album. Read some science and you will appreciate him. If you wish to remain ignornat about the universe, then don’t try to fault Canibus for it. LOL YOU CANT NOD YOUR HEAD TO IT. You basically have your own idea of what hip hop is and evaluate everything in terms of this Silver Standard of yours. Its bogus, an overly subjective and ultimately worthless review.

Thats my review of your review. Try to find a gramatical error you crumb.

Thank You for your review of my review. Honestly the whole goal of this site is to give an honest opinion of what we think about music. Maybe you are stuck somewhere in a basement trying so hard to split the sticky pages of your dirty magazines. We all have our own idea of what Hip Hop is. So you too can have your opinion and we can also. Thats why its the world wide web, its for everyone. But at the end of the day this is PARDONMEDUKE.com, not EV.com. Grammatical errors ( you spelled it wrong) DO NOT make my opinion less or more valid than yours. Maybe Canibus reminds you of yourself. Could it be that you: A.) Gets NO pussy and search the web to counter other people opinions B.) Can’t afford your own server (we have several) or a simple GoDaddy account to put up your useless thoughts C.) Are just a dick rider who clearly doesn’t seem to realize our opinions here at this site are more driven by personal preferences from a pool of more than 50 people from all walks of life when other sites have to give good ratings based on advertising dollars spent on them. I don’t have a degree in english or journalism, but I do have an opinion and the means to share it. Why don’t you do the same. I look forward to your critiques of our reviews down the line.

I’m sorry for being nosey but anybody that calls someone ignorant and can’t spell the word after pointing out spelling errors needs to “go sitdown”. ‘Blogger beef’ is funny because it allows everyone to be tough but come on ‘ignornat’…pardonme i had to laugh at that.

what is wrong with this site ??? this is crazy who ever review this album has not read the letter babygrande records wrote about canibus, he is the most advance artist there is in the industry, just look up his lyrics and subjects, his not making you move to the beat, but he is giving you knowledge that if you look this info online it will make sense, after all there was a national study that show 4million americans only have 5th grade education, so nowonder they can’t relate to his lyrics. question to whom ever review this work of art>> what is the differents between poetry an rap or the out spoken word ???

The reveiwer of this album is an ignorant herb. You can’t vibe to the lyrics because you are one of the 4 million Americans that only has a 5th grade Education. You are a sheep that follows the commercial crowd. Just say the lyrics are over your head and your minimal education cannot comprehend what ‘Bis is spittin. What a shame. This album is superb and the beats are banging. Herb!

My Personal opinion on canibus is …YEAH…this guy has much lyrical talent…with relevant educational subject matter…however…as an artist you must have the ability to please the overall masses or listeners if you will..and i dont mean straight garbage slash corny like soulja boy..but .just knowin’ and understandin’ the business…i always liked canibus.. was nobody better back when he was runnin’ witt lost boys..(beast from the east)…great track!…keith murray redman and dem…he has no clue how to **BALANCE** good lyrical content with ..hard street or commercial bars…like he once knew how….over does it witt the chemistry ..scientifical raps.and his hooks are terrible ….maybe the lox should have threw him under the wing…old canibus and styles p on a hard track would’ev been crazy…..He just a cornball…basically…..guess we can always listen to the old shit…2nd round ko..beast from the east…fantastic four..lyrical demon (freestyle)…freestyles….RIP….Young Canibus!
