When I first heard of T-Pain I dug the whole “I’m Sprung” vibe. The re-birth of the Roger Troutman Talk Box sound. It was different from what was going on. Anything other than the norm I’ll tolerate these days. With his sophomore effort “Epiphany”, the sound has worn out it’s welcome.

Granted, the first time around I didn’t listen to the first album. Only the singles got any love. This time I gave dude full attention (a whole train ride) and came to some conclusions. First one is dude cant sing to save his life. Even with the machine his true sound breaks through. The Intro titled “Tallahassee Love” he admits I don’t know how I did it man. Songs such as “Back Seat Love”, “Pull It Down”, “Time Machine” and the unforgettable “Yo Stomach” make my ears bleed.

On the track “69″ he leaves no mystery to the subject manner by bragging about his “Tongue Exercises”. The raw interlude “I Got It” has T-Pain talking to a lady friend who breaks the news of having H.I.V. The follow up song “Suicide” is so silly that the subject manner gets lost because of disdain for his voice and writing style. At the end of the day who am I to hate on T-Pain. His first album was titled “Rappa Ternt Sanga” so he never lied to us. “Buy Me A Drink” is a guilty pleasure though. All I know is that if you can find this online for free thats the way to get it.
